Another Lawsuit: Is the Cost of Trustee Evans a Concern?
Funny how really big political gaffs and twisted ideologies can remind us of the local situation. While Los Angeles hosts fires and riots, the Blame, Complain, and Defend, style of Trustee Evans (he never varies from his song) seems to be in play all over America. While Evans has not destroyed anywhere near what Gov Newsome has ($322 Billion budget), percentage-wise might be an interesting comparison. Our Etna Township (10 million Township) Trustee Evans says, just give me one more like-minded trustee!
Evans working on his 7th employee body bag he even drags the dead (employees that left) through the mud at each meeting and of course, posts on FaceBook, and writes this to his fourth Administrator (we really need to number the victims at this point):
“I am formally requesting that a disciplinary hearing be scheduled immediately to address your refusal. Should this board continue to ignore or block action, I will pursue accountability at the earliest opportunity when a willing board is in place.” -Evans email to Bill Spurgeon, May 28th, 2025 10:45 PM.
Evans is a dropout from a state college, so maybe he missed the Freshman courses: Obvious 100 & 101. Of course, even kindergarteners (moderately parented) understand to get respect, you must first give respect. As you may recall Trustee Evans often attacks prospective employees and did so with Mr. Spurgeon (admin 4). Even at a recent meeting, Evans was still taking shots at Admin 3 and number Admin 2. While admin 3 was home with cancer, Evans still sent the daily email of things he wanted to be done.
Evan’s contempt for the employees driving 7 out in a 3-person office in 3.5 years is only rivaled by perhaps Kamala Harris. There is no cooperation or teamwork available from Mr. Evans. A few days ago, when no one was available to answer the phones, Trustee Evans sprang into ACTION! Not by going into the office, but by posting early office closure on Facebook; as he says on FB, he has everything he needs in his home office (except humans, teamwork, and respect).
He loves the fiction that I just “attack him,” in his words, because he hastened my wife’s decision to (admin 2’s) depart from the township. Well, that is wrong, I do not care for Mr. Evans because he is toxic, rude, and a huge financial burden to the Township. Nita got a fair settlement (thanks to Mark’s bullying and harassment). And went on to a better situation after a well-deserved rest.“Does not play well with others.” That should be on Mr. Evans’s Township grade card. We can all pray Mark will have a change of heart, and learn to play well with others. He says he is simply asking people to do their JOB! Speaking of jobs, is part of leadership getting along with others and being able to produce with the team you have? Not full-time trying to drive people away?
The township is at a critical time. It’s election season you can see it without a calendar based on the increasing desperation of Trustee Evans. We pay him $25,000 a year yet he costs about $125,000 a year. Check the numbers, lawsuits, settlements, and costs of constant turnover that SHRM puts at 50 percent of the salaries of the displaced (figure all 7 people divided by 4 years). Not to mention the toxicity, turmoil, and cyberbullying.
